Psychological injuries: Just as real as physical injuries
May 20th, 2013
For many people, conditions such as anxiety, depression and other mental illnesses are not considered injuries. This is likely due to the fact that most people only think of physical injuries as injuries at all.
The truth is psychological injuries can cause just as much pain and suffering as physical injuries. When you see the effect mental illnesses can have on people first hand, it is immediately apparent that mental illnesses are very much a real cause of suffering for millions of people.
Sometimes when an accident occurs, the injured party may be lucky enough to escape physical injury however, if the person suffers from mental illnesses, like anxiety, depression and stress then they can still bring a claim for personal injury compensation for mental injuries.
The key to claiming for psychological injuries following an accident is that the mental anguish must be recorded and treatment for it must have been administered. This will be enough to prove that someone suffered psychological injuries.
If you have been involved in an accident and have suffered psychological or mental injuries as a result, you should contact a personal injury claims specialist immediately.

I was working for my employer as an administrator for 2 years and noticed that I had started to develop problems with my fingers and wrists. I had been to my local GP several times who did say that it could be to do with the fact that I was typing at work. I did not think much of it at the time; she just prescribed me normal painkillers as asked if this was a serious problem and if it did persist that I would need to come back to here. I let this persist around 8 months into my employment with the company not realising how that it was infact linked to my duties at work.
One day I was typing away at work when my hand started to really start hurting. I could not continue typing the pain was very excruciating and it became unbearable. I started complaining to my work colleagues who advised that I report this to my manger . I was hesitant because it was not an accident as such but I did tell them that I could not continue typing until the pain got better. My manager was very empathetic and gave me other tasks to do at work.
One of my colleagues suggested that I seek advice for a personal injury claim as they thought that there could be a possibility that I could be entitled to compensation. I did think at the time that this would be highly unlikely as I had not suffered from an accident. Never the less I started contacting some companies on line and conducted some research.
It came to light that I was suffering from a repetitive strain injury and I was infact entitled to compensation. The advisor was very helpful and explained the procedure to me which seemed very easy at the time. I am no longer working for that company and have successfully have been compensated for my injury.
I am very happy with the service that I have been given; my claims advisor put me in touch with a fast track solicitor who was very help full and understanding of my position. As you can imagine it was very scary for me at one stage because I thought I would be subjected to bullying and unfair dismissal. Luckily I had a fantastic solicitor and my employer was more than happy to accept liability

On the 29th December 2012 I just finished work and was on my way home. I got off the bus and thought I would take a short cut home as it was cold and dark. I noticed that some of the street lights were out which wasn’t really surprising as it was such a ruff council estate.
All of a sudden I have got my right foot stuck in a hole in the pavement and have twisted trying to get it out and have fallen forward to the ground causing a personal injury have seen someone walking there dog across the road and started screaming for help this old couple have walked across the road and have tried helping me up, but I just could not move my right foot at all, the old lady said the council should have repaired this hole by now as her grandson broke his arm as he fell in exactly the same place.
The old couple called for an ambulance and were advising me to make sure I reported it to the council and to speak with a solicitor so I can make a claim for my personal injury on a no win no fee basis.
I wasn’t even listening to them as I was in too much pain, the ambulance arrived and even they said that was a very big hole in the pavement and took one or two pictures, the 1st paramedic said he thinks I have broken my foot and the second confirmed yes its definitely broken and said I hope your going to be making a claim for that.
I was taken to hospital had an x-ray and was told I had broken my right foot in three places; the paramedic was kind enough to send the pictures he had taken to my phone. I had a temporary cast put on my foot and was asked to come back after a week so they can put another cast on.
The following day I was watching day time TV on and an advert came on for people who wanted to claim compensation on a no win no fee I took there number down and gave them a call.
The advisor who took the call took my number and called me back straight away, she asked me what had happened so I explained what had happened to me, she said I was entitled to compensation for my personal injury and that a expert solicitor in this field would contact me regarding my accident and take on the case.
Pot Hole Injury: Entitled for Compensation
May 9th, 2013
The roads in England and Wales are subject to a number of procedural rules and regulations. One of the mail duties regarding roads is placed on local councils or authorities to ensure that roads are not a state of disrepair. This is the reason all road users pay road tax.
The main danger that arises as a result of failing to maintain roads, is that over time, pot holes can develop which cause a danger for all road users, drivers, motorcyclists, bikes and even on foot.
The rules relating to making a claim for driving over a pot hole which causes injuries is different to other accidents involving road users. The driver must prove that the pot hole actually exists with photographic evidence recording the exact location and depth of the pot hole. The pot hole which caused the accident must be at least 2 inches deep and it must cause injuries.
When you drive over a pothole, depending on the size of it, it can cause anything to happen from it being barely noticeable to losing control of the vehicle causing a crash. It can be hard to maintain composure especially if you did not see the pot hole and brace yourself for the impending impact.
If a pot hole accident was to occur, you should prioritize coming to a safe stop first. Also if you are injured as a result of the accident you should contact an ambulance immediately to address and treat your injuries and then recording the above information.
Remember that almost all roads in England and Wales are the responsibility of the local council and highway authority. Therefore if you have been injured as the result of driving over a pot hole in the road, please get legal advice now to see if you can make a pot hole injury claim.
Get Adequate Compensation for Injuries Caused by Driver
May 7th, 2013
It was a Friday night after our final term of university. I was a passenger in my friend’s car and we were on our way to the town Centre to celebrate the end of university. While it became a night to remember, it was for all the wrong reasons.
We were on our way and the last thing in any of our minds was an accident occurring. We approached a queue of traffic and the next thing I know there was a very loud bang and my body was thrown forwards. Initially I was confused but it did not take long to realize I was involved in a road traffic accident as a passenger.
My driver was responsible for causing the accident at my injuries. The police and ambulance were called to the scene and I was taken to hospital. After a few hours had passed since the accident, I became increasingly aware of and suffering from injuries to my back and shoulders.
I had to cut down hours at work in addition to all of the other problems which occurred as a result of the accident.
In the end I decided all I could do was make a claim for compensation as the passenger of the fault driver. I was hesitant at first, I did not want to sue my friend, however I soon realized that the car we crashed into was also making a claim. I decided that as there was already claims being made, to contact a professional to see if I could claim as a passenger who was injured by my own driver.
I cannot even begin to describe how thankful I am that I made the claim when I did. If I did not, I have no idea what I would have done or even how I could cope with all that happened.
If you have suffered injuries as a passenger in a car as a result of your driver, please contact a professional immediately for advice. The accident has already probably been reported and your friends premiums would have gone up anyway.
Car hit Pedestrian: Take Expert Advice for Injuries Suffered
April 29th, 2013
When walking on the streets of England of Wales everyone should feel safe and secure to travel in public as they please. Unfortunately all too often exercising this simple freedom leads to real suffering. Recently I dealt with a particular accident where the pedestrian had been hit by a car.
Being in her late 40’s and the mother of adult children, my client was not a child who was crossing the road while listening to her ipod. She was a responsible road user who took all reasonable steps to ensure she would end up injured.
The traffic lights turned red and the pedestrian crossing indicated it was safe to cross the road. Having checked both sides of the road and noticing the path was clear, my client began to cross the road when suddenly the third party driver approached her at speed and knocked her down. To his credit the driver stopped to aid the pedestrian he had just hit with his car and called for help.
The third party driver had been on his phone and simply did not see my client crossing the road or that the he had crossed a red light.
In the coming months my client had to endure severe back injuries which she suffers from til this day. She can’t move around easily, had to leave her work place and could no longer do all the things she loved. Her time with grandkids is now just a painful reminder of the accident and not being able to play with them caused the client to suffer severely.
After being struck by a car as a pedestrian, the only course of action available to you is to contact the emergency services as soon as possible. If you suffer injuries as a result of the accident, you should contact us immediately for free advice on your case.
Hit and Run : Making an accident compensation claim for the injuries
April 24th, 2013
A few years ago my life was turned upside down when I was the victim of a hit and run. I was on my way to town to meet up with friends to celebrate the new year.
I was about to cross the road and waited patiently for the light to turn green. The signal changed and I began to walk across the road when all of a sudden a car approached me at speed and before I could even react I was on the floor in agony. I had been run down by the driver and left in the street to gather my senses and try to get help.
I literally cannot believe that anyone would be so callous to leave some one in the street like that after running them over and for all they know causing serious injury. Thankfully many pedastrians had seen the hit and run and came to my aid. Someone called for the emergency services and as I laid there waiting for the ambulance, the only thing I was aware of was the sharp pain in my leg. The accident had broken my right leg in 3 places and I suffered bad grazing down the right side of my body.
The ambulance and police arrived and I started to black out. The next thing I remember is waking up in a hospital room. The police were there and I talked them through the precious little I could remember. Thankfully, CCTV from the scene meant they could trace the car and driver easily.
Making a accident compensation claim for the injuries I suffered as the result of the hit and run was something I never even though about until months later. The impact on my day to day life was dramatic, I had always been someone who loves to swim, run and generally move around and exercise as much as possible. Due to injuries I could not do any of this and after just a few weeks I was really depressed by the whole situation. Not only had I been the victim of a hit and run, it literally changed my life.
I started to gain and weight and became very argumentative with the people closest to me.
The whole ordeal almost broke me but I was able to get the help I needed. When my claim began I was told about the process and everything was explained to me. I spoke with my Solicitors and they advised me on my hit and run accident claims strength and weaknesses, the options available to me and what they thought was the best to proceed.
That was 9 months ago and today I received a cheque for 28,000.00 to compensate me for my pain and suffering caused by the hit and run. I received 100% of my compensation and I can finally put the entire ordeal behind me. I am very happy that I claimed compensation for the hit and run as not doing so would have meant dealing with the injuries and losses myself.
